Biography

When and why did you start training for fighting?

When I was a kid I started training in Judo in Cuba and was one of the best in my division. I then wrestled on the national team for Cuba and competed internationally. After having to leave Cuba for political reasons I came to the USA and began training MMA.

What ranks and titles have you held?
I’m a purple belt in the Freestyle Fighting system under Marcos Avellan, David Avellan and Efrain Ruiz.

Do you have any heroes?
Randy Couture.

What is your favorite technique?
I don’t have a favorite technique, I use whatever ends the fight fastest, whether it is a punch or a submission.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn?
No.

What was your job before you started fighting?
I used to be a welder.
