Biography

DESCRIBE A TYPICAL DAY OF TRAINING: Wake up 8am, warm up, do cardio, weightlifting, swimming, warm down, stretch. Afternoon technique work. 7pm sparring, rolling, conditioning, and more technique work.

When and why did you start training for fighting? I started training at three to four years old when my step-dad moved in. since then, I have derived technique from judo, jiu-jitsu, karate, wrestling, Muay Thai, boxing, and Bruce Lee movies.

What ranks and titles have you held? As far as titles there are only a couple of belts that would mean anything to me - Sean Sherk has one of them.

Do you have any heroes? My biggest hero is Jesus.

What is your favorite technique?  Kick to the head.

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? What does it mean? It means it is time to find out whether I belong at the pinnacle of mixed martial arts.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I wrestled on the same JUCO team as Matt Hughes. He kicked my ass, but I got a few takedowns and what-not every so often.

What was your job before you started fighting? I was studying to be a cop, but then I went to jail and all that went away, so I turned into a wrench-head (mechanic), working on million dollar toys.
