TRAINING: Training is business as usual. I've been living in South Florida and training with MMA Masters for the past year now. I wake up and do fight training every morning, sparring or hard grappling every day, then my strength and conditioning in the evening. I was a personal trainer for years and try to apply the knack that I have for personal fitness to my own career, pushing my body to its limits on a daily basis.
Thoughts on opponent, Caio Magalhaes? Caio is a dangerous opponent from Nova Uniao, one of the most decorated MMA gyms in the world, and one that has found a lot of success lately. I think Caio's greatest asset is his heart and chin, as he has never been finished, or even come close from what I've seen. He's got great composure, listens to his coaches well, and seems to have a high fight IQ, which is the kind of fight I like, leaving a battle of willpower determining who really wants it the most.
When and why did you start training for fighting? I began training when I was 16 years old. I had a lot of energy and drive and nothing to focus it on until I found martial arts.
What ranks and titles have you held? World War Cage Fighting Middleweight Champion, Ubersmash Middleweight Champion
Do you have any heroes? My mother
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It means all the blood, sweat, and tears were all worth it. It means I've finally reached my goal.
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? Went to College, did not finish.
What was your job before you started fighting? Personal Trainer
