TRAINING: I usually train twice a day every day - one physical training and one technical training. 8am - Technical training - I do a little bit of everything (Boxing, Muay Thai, Jiu-Jitsu, Karate and Wrestling). 4 pm - Physical training - with an excellent professional who makes me have increasing confidence in my physical conditioning. In my free time I'm at home watching movies, playing video games, and I’m always close to the people I love (family).
Thoughts on opponent, Francisco Trevino? Trevino has won 11 fights in a row, so he deserves to be here. But the UFC is not like the other events, and he will feel the pressure while I am going to feel at home.
When and why did you start training to become a fighter? I started when I created a personality in jiu-jitsu, when I became confident in the art. I fight because I like to brawl.
What ranks and titles have you held? I'm a jiu-jitsu black belt and karate purple belt, I was a several time jiu-jitsu state champion and when I was a kid I was a karate national champion.
Do you have any heroes? My hero is and will always be Jesus because he gave his life for me.
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? The realization of a dream.
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? Yes, but I didn't finish it. Physical education.
What was your job before you started fighting? I taught jiu-jitsu classes.
