Biography
TRAINING: At the gym I start with wrestling in the morning and end with MMA at night. It is hard training because my focus is my speed, and I can say that I am faster than ever.
Thoughts on opponent, Kenny Florian? This is the biggest opportunity of my life and it came at the best moment in my life. Just to know that after this fight I will be able to fight for the title is a great moment in my career. I am without words thinking about my life and where I came from, and now I am with the best in my division. That’s why I will put all my strength and power into this fight.
When and why did you start training for fighting? I started training for fun at age 13. When I was 15 years old I took it seriously. At age 17 I fought amateur Muay Thai and Boxing matches.
What ranks and titles have you held? Southern Brasil Muay Thai and Boxing Champion
Do you have any heroes? Jesus
What is your favorite technique? Guillotine
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It's a dream come true. It's not only my dream, but by fighting I am giving hope and the ability to dream to all the people around me.
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? No
What was your job before you started fighting? I played soccer, but I had to make a decision and I chose fighting.
