When and why did you start training for fighting? I started training for K-1 in 1994.

What ranks and titles have you held? 2006 PRIDE Open Weight Grand Prix Champion

Do you have any heroes? My father

What is your favorite technique? I’m a striker.

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It’s a new challenge.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? Yes.

What was your job before you started fighting? I was a police officer, and was then promoted to Special Police which is an Anti-Terrorist unit called ATJ LUCKO. I then ran for the Croatian Parliament, representing the capital city of Zagreb, in 2003 and I was elected. I was fighting already when I was a police officer. I'm currently serving the Croatian Parliament (the equivalent of US Senate). So, it's not like I did something before I became a fighter. I've been a fighter all through my career as a public servant.
