Biography
TRAINING: Exhausting
Thoughts on opponent, Leonard Garcia? I have to do my best to finish the fight this time around. I can't let it go to the decision of the judges. For some odd reason, Leonard always wins decisions, even if he's losing.
When and why did you start training for fighting? I started training because I loved martial arts and the competitive aspect of it.
What ranks and titles have you held? None
Do you have any heroes? No
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It means everything to be fighting for the biggest promotion in the world. It shows that if you work hard, dreams do come true
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I went to Golden West College and to Cal State Fullerton. I was studying for my business marketing degree
What was your job before you started fighting? I only worked for my parents at their liquor store in Santa Ana as a kid growing up.
Specific accomplishments in amateur competition? I took second at the So Cal Golden Gloves in Amateur Boxing and second at the jiu-jitsu Pan Americans in 2003
Ranks in any martial arts styles: Black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and karate
Favorite grappling technique: sweeps
