Dillashaw-Cruz Heads to Boston on Jan. 17

Dominick Cruz’ return to the Octagon to face UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw on Jan. 17 now has a home, as the UFC goes back to Boston’s TD Garden for the FOX Sports 1-televised event.

The Dillashaw vs. Cruz card marks the promotion’s first event in Boston since Jan. 18, 2015, when Conor McGregor headlined against Dennis Siver. Tickets go on sale on Friday, Nov. 13.

In addition to the announcement of the site for Dillashaw-Cruz, three more Boston bouts were made official Wednesday.

In the co-main event, former UFC lightweight champion Anthony “Showtime” Pettis is back in action for the first time since the loss of his title, and he has another tough assignment in front of him in the form of Philadelphia contender Eddie Alvarez.

The heavyweights will also head to New England as Travis Browne faces off with Matt Mitrione. And in what should be another all-action bout, Maine’s own Tim “The Barbarian” Boetsch battles fellow veteran Ed “Short Fuse” Herman.
