Faber Enters the Art World with Optical Panacea

Continuing to venture out beyond the Octagon, bantamweight superstar Urijah Faber’s latest project sees him teaming up with renowned photographer Sam Hon to show the art of fighting in a new and unique manner.

“Art is what drives our culture, and to feature some of the top names and fighters in MMA and UFC in a way that’s very unique is something that I’m really excited for,” said Faber of the Optical Panacea Art Gallery, which launches with an event in Las Vegas on Friday, May 24.

The launch event takes place at Heraea inside The Palms Resort Casino and is free and open to the public from 7pm to 11pm.

Blending the imagery of a background photo with a series of action shots, UFC stars Anderson Silva, Wanderlei Silva, Mark Munoz, Joseph Benavidez, BJ Penn, Anthony Pettis, Chael Sonnen, Minotauro Nogueira are featured in the collection that will be displayed in the gallery.

“Las Vegas really identifies with MMA since the UFC is headquartered here, so this feels like a great match for our first gallery,” said Faber. “I think we’ve really created something here that fans of MMA and fans of art are both going to really appreciate, and I’m happy that the public gets to see what we’ve been working for over four years to create.”
