SPORT 5 Will Stream Live UFC 113 Press Conferences and Weigh-In Event
Las Vegas, NV (USA) – Ultimate Fighting Championship® fans in Israel will have their first look at UFC 113 headliners Lyoto Machida and “Shogun” Rua just days before their historic rematch thanks to a new, fully dedicated UFC page on Sport 5 television’s web site Sport5.CO.IL.
Officially launched today, the dedicated Hebrew language page is a joint collaboration between Sport5.CO.IL and the UFC broadcast licensee in Israel, "EGO-Total." The site is not only fully interactive and features UFC content, including video, fighter profiles and UFC news and updates, but it will also live stream UFC pre-fight and post-fight press conferences, as well as official weigh-in events, starting with UFC 113: MACHIDA vs SHOGUN 2.
“Over the last few years, MMA in Israel has developed from something virtually unknown into a popular and legitimate sport due to the successful entrance of the UFC brand into the market" said Yaron Talpaz, VP of Business Development at Sport 5. "This is only the beginning. Together with our partners at Ego Total, who introduced the UFC to the Israeli audience, we are looking forward to initiating the next step and making the UFC even more accessible to the Israeli audience through our dedicated web page on our Sport5.CO.IL portal.”
Counting down the days to this championship fight, UFC fans in Israel can click into the UFC 113 pre-fight press conference on Thursday, May 6 at 8:00pm (Israel time), as well as the post fight press conference, which takes place shortly after the conclusion of the UFC 113 main event, around 1:30am (Israel time). UFC President Dana White will host both press conferences.
The UFC 113 weigh-ins, hosted by UFC Commentator Joe Rogan and including every fighter on the UFC 113 card, takes place Friday, May 7 at 11pm (Israel time) live from the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Launched in 2001, Sport 5 is Israel’s market leader in sports television, with four linear channels, and a fifth HD Channel, Sport 5 HD. Available on free basic cable in Israel, the channel is devoted to sports, and broadcasts NBA games, the Winner League (Israel’s national basketball league), and recently-aired UFC Pay-Per-View events, on a delayed basis after the live broadcasts on EGO Total.
