Dana White Confirms Rory MacDonald Next in Line For Title

Rory MacDonald tweeted a picture to UFC President Dana White shortly after his big win over Tarec Saffiedine at Fight Night Halifax. It read: “Title shot or bust!.”

The boss got the message.
White spoke to the Canadian Press on Wednesday and confirmed that MacDonald is next in line and will face the winner of Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler at UFC 181 for the UFC welterweight title.
“It’s pretty impossible to deny Rory that, whoever comes out of the Hendricks-Lawler fight, he’s the next guy in line,” White said.
White was high on the No. 9-ranked welterweight Saffiedine going into Fight Night Halifax, and was impressed with how MacDonald dominated him.
“I have a lot of respect for Saffiedine. That guy’s tough to deal with,” White said. "Rory just absolutely made him look like he didn’t belong there. He actually treated him like No. 9.”
White went on to say that when MacDonald fights for the title, it will “absolutely, positively, without a doubt, be in Canada.” He confirmed later in the day that it will take place in MacDonald's backyard: Montreal.
