Ronda named to Fortune's 40 under 40 list

Ronda Rousey, Taylor Swift and John Oliver walk into a bar ...

No, this isn't the start of a joke - it could be reality.

UFC superstar Rousey, who is preparing to fight Holly Holm at UFC 193 on November 14, was named to Fortune's 40 Under 40 list. The women's bantamweight champion, 28, joins an impressive list of entertainers, like the aforementioned pop-sensation Swift and 'Last Week Tonight' host Oliver, entrepreneurial mavens, technology wizards, and other revolutionary young people in business.

Other luminaries named on the list include the co-founders of Lyft Logan Green and Josh Zimmer, co-founder and CEO of Fitbit James Park, co-founder and CEO of Draftkings Jason Robbins, actor and founder of The Honest Company Jessica Alba and others.

Fortune Magazine has been compiling this version of the list for seven years and is decided upon by "a large team of reporters, writers and editors" according to the magazine.

Amongst the reasons cited, Rousey made the list by virtue of her dominance in UFC, her multiple big screen appearances with roles in Furious 7, The Expendables and Entourage, and the inspiration she is giving women of all ages in regards to body image.
