UFC 95: LIVE FROM THE O2, LONDON, SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 21, 2009

London, England -The world’s most exciting sport returns to the O2 in London in the New Year as the Ultimate Fighting Championship(R) presents UFC 95 on Saturday February 21.

The UFC’s two previous visits to the O2 were sold-out extravaganzas featuring the biggest names in all of mixed martial arts - and UFC 95 will be no different as the greatest fighters on Earth once again converge on the capital city.

“We’re excited to be heading back to London,” said UFC President Dana White. “Including UFC 38 in 2002, and UFC 75 and 85 more recently, this is our fourth show in London and we’re working very hard to make this the best fight card of them all.”

Full details of the fighters who will be in action at the O2 will be announced very shortly.

White said: “Our UK fans know we will be bringing an awesome card because that’s what we do with each and every show. In the last 18 months the biggest names in the sport - BJ Penn, Dan Henderson, Rampage Jackson, Forrest Griffin, Michael Bisping, Rich Franklin and all the rest – have competed in the UK and we always try to make every event even more exciting than the last.”

Tickets priced £295, £200, £150, £100, £75, £45 will go on sale for UFC Fight Club members at 9am November 17, UFC Newsletter subscribers and O2 subscribers 9am on November 19 and tickets will go on general public release at 9am on November 21.

Tickets will be available from the O2 and ticketmaster.co.uk.

UFC UK Division President Marshall Zelaznik added: “The UFC came of age in the British Isles in 2008. We continued to set records wherever we travelled in the UK and with the UFC having already sold out the Dublin O2 for UFC 93 in January, we are hitting the ground running in the New Year.

“The UFC’s brand of mixed martial arts is the hottest ticket and best supported big arena sport in the British Isles. But we are only just getting started.”

UFC 95 will be LIVE on Setanta Sports 1 at 8pm.
