Fresh from a Fight of the Night scrap with Abel Trujillo at UFC 169 in February, former WEC lightweight champion Jamie Varner has verbally agreed to take on James Krause at UFC 173 in Las Vegas on May 24.
Krause, who picked up a Fight of the Night award in his Octagon debut against Sam Stout last June, saw an eight fight winning streak snapped last November after a controversial TKO loss to Bobby Green. Varner is also looking to get back on the winning track after losing to Trujillo in their recent slugfest.
