When and why did you start training for fighting? I started fighting when I was 19, but since I was very young, I have always liked fights and martial arts. It has been a way for me to deal with my fighting soul and to become a winner.

What ranks and titles have you held? I was a BJJ State champion and I am a BJJ black belt.

Do you have any heroes? Minotauro (Nogueira) is a hero for me, not only for having given me an opportunity but also for having given opportunities for other people who have dreamed of becoming professional MMA fighters. I consider Minotauro a true warrior.

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? For me, fighting in the UFC is a dream come true. It is an amazing opportunity to show the whole world who I am and what I can do best. And now that I am here, I am going to get to the top and I’m going to become the champion in my division.

What was your job before you started fighting? Before I started working as a fighter, I used to work in a market doing whatever was needed. I had several small jobs before I could make a living as a fighter.
